The Catalonia Coast Trail

About a year ago I discovered an organization that facilitates “riding holidays” all around the world. It became a “must do” on my travel list.

Luckily, I have a mother who is happy to join me on adventures involving lots of four-legged transportation:

I am also blessed to have a wonderful family friend, Patti, who has served as a “2nd mother” to me since I was young. She is also horse-crazy and brave enough to join the adventure!

The three of us spent about a month deciding exactly which “riding holiday” was going to be the perfect fit. Catalonia, Spain became the destination of choice! Click below to follow our journey, fast-forward to the interesting parts, or skip it all together!

Next goal: get my sisters to ride along!

  1. Trysta — Thanks for this wonderful travelogue! When I asked her for pictures Patti sent me this blog. It is just great — such a good capture of your adventure. Sagrada Famalia is certainly farther along than when we saw it in 1999. You have some amazing shots, are quite the raconteur and, I’m sure, a fantastic travelling companion.

  2. Hi again Trysta,

I should have introduced myself. I’m a (retired) midwife and my husband, Dayvid Schultz is a middle school teacher in Chicago. We’ve met Patti and Paul here in Spring Green — are each developing thriving and beautiful gardens. They are delightful. In fact we’re having dinner with them tonight. I’m so glad to have seen your pictures before we get together. What an adventure! And lucky them — they leave for Germany Tuesday!

We have good friends who also ride, and they travel to Europe annually. Do you mind if I share your blog with them? And, if they’re interested, the name of the equestrian service — Nacho’s boss. Thanks.

    Martha
