PLANE – the following airports are recommended:

• Stuttgart, Germany (STR)
• Frankfurt, Germany (FRA)
• Zurich, Switzerland (ZRH)

All airports will require further transportation via train or car. Each are approximately 2 – 2.5 hours from Freiburg.

TRAIN

You will want to use Regional rail or Eurocity of Deutsche Bahn to get to Freiburg, depending on your original location. When selecting a destination on the DB website, make sure to choose “Freiburg (Breisgau) Hbf”. This is the main train station in Freiburg. All other selections will put you on a tram to locations within in city.

You can purchase a BahnCard 25 or BahnCard 50, which will give you a 25% or 50% discount on the train fare. However, double check that you will be saving more than the cost of the card, if you plan to use it only once!

AUTOMOBILE

In all reality, you will get the best directions by putting “Freiburg im Breisgau” or our street into your GPS. If you rely on directions from me, you might end up in Argentina!
